Summer
2009
We had a great time. Enjoyed
the lovely house. Plenty of room for all of us. Its just the beds ...
they kept us awake at nights (New mattresses bought for all the
beds) Otherwise, just perfect !
Reeth is a lovely village
and most days we didn't need to take the car out. Managed to walk every
day, despite deteriorating weather. Wet and tired, it was great to come
back to such cosy, well-maintained comfort with everything we needed.
(Overton House is excellent and good value (but not cheap) with decent
portions) The museum is also worth a couple of hours attention, with
an interesting shop.
Nice, well-equipped house.
We appreciated the fact that the house was situated in the centre of
the village, i.e. near the shops and pubs, as well as being central
to some really pretty walks. We found Overton House and the CB Inn the
best for eating out although a little pricey. Further afield we enjoyed
Aysgarth Falls - also the Tea Shop and Chocolate Shop in Leyburn. We
could easily have spent a further week (or two) here - maybe next year
!
Wonderful cottage, wonderful
walks from Reeth, wonderful weather ! Can recommend Overton House (a
bit pricey) and the King's Arms (preferable to the Black Bull). Jervaux
Abbey is a must. Kiplin HAll (between Richmond and Northallerton) is
essential visiting for Arts & Crafts fans (William Morris &
william de Morgan). The so-called "Little Red Bus" up and
down the Dale is very useful for walkers.
More than happy to get such
a well-equipped cottage at short notice. We could have spent a few days
just exploring the house. Weather changeable at first but then excellent
walking weather. But we are used to that after so many years. Many thanks.
Fantastic holiday, brilliant
weather ! Loved the cottage, very homely and well-equipped. Thank you.
We will come again.
